MANDATE

To provide assistance to LGU, NGOs, other national government agencies, peoples organizations and other members of the civil society effectively in implementing programs, projects and services that will alleviate poverty and empower disadvantaged individuals, families and communities.

A society where the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, families and communities are empowered for an improved quality of life.

MISSION

To provide social protection and promote the rights and welfare of the poor, vulnerable and the disadvantaged individuals and communities, to contribute to poverty alleviation and empowerment through social welfare and development policies, programs, projects and services implemented with or through LGU, NGOs, Pos and Gos and other members of the civil society.

ORGANIZATIONAL OUTCOME

To formulate and advocate just and responsive Social Welfare and Development legislative agenda, policies, plans as well as ensuring effective implementation.  To provide technical assistance and resource augmentation to intermediaries in the implementation of Social Welfare and Development programs and services.  To provide preventive, protective and development programs and social services.
